EXPENSIVE DAILY MAINTENANCE
In 2023, North Manchester Parks and Recreation (NMPR) was spending an excessive amount of time, money, and resources to provide basic daily access to park buildings. “We were trying to eliminate the need for someone to physically go to all our park locations and lock and unlock restrooms each day,” recalls Parks Director, Jennifer Hotchkiss. With increasing staff turnover rates, NMPR’s current brass keys access control system was only becoming more difficult to manage.
BRASS KEY NIGHTMARE
“I had a spreadsheet with key numbers and employee names as the best way to try to control brass key access for the parks facilities,” Hotchkiss commented. When an employee would quit or no show/no call, NMPR would have to send the police department to their house to collect keys. Hotchkiss and her team also found themselves loaning out brass keys to renters for restrooms and storage. “Chasing renters down and/or charging community members for non-returned keys was creating a big challenge for all of us” Hotchkiss shared.
EASY TO LEARN AND EASY TO USE
Proxess® came to NMPR through a recommendation from a trusted hardware supplier. “Installation of the Proxess locks and software was very quick and training was thorough and immediate,” Hotchkiss remarked. She continued to share that, “Tech support since installation has been extremely helpful, easily accessible and the Proxess system has been easy to learn and use.“
SAVING TIME AND SAVING MONEY
The park restroom doors are now on unlock and lock schedules and employees use Proxess Mobile Keys. “The Proxess locks have saved us a ton of time and reduced payroll!” Hotchkiss explained. The ability to remotely mange access freed NMPR from brass keys and expensive daily manual maintenance.
