MANAGING ACCESS BEFORE PROXESS
Fellowship Square Mesa, located near the Superstition Mountains in Mesa, AZ, provides services for independent living, assisted living and memory care residents with 333 housing units across multiple buildings on campus. With an average resident age of 86, asking residents to carry both a fob and a brass key to access their units had created frustration and excessive labor costs for security and maintenance personnel due to near constant resident lockout situations. Additionally, their current, soon-to-be-obsolete electronic access control system required administrators spend many hours visiting locks, adding users and retrieving activity logs. “Every time we needed to add a new user, a new lock or retrieve activity logs we had to physically visit all of the locks, costing us hours of time,” lamented Jon Scott Williams, Executive Director of Fellowship Square Mesa.
FINDING PROXESS
Mr. Williams and his team invested heavily in due diligence when searching for a new electronic access control system. Jon Scott sought feedback from his network of other Christian care facilities as well as from his current security and network system provider, Will Peterson with Unwired Engineering, who introduced Fellowship Square Mesa to Proxess. After a diligent review process, Proxess was chosen for their new electronic access control system. “We compared potential replacement systems item by item, checklist by checklist and Proxess came out on top,” stated Jon Scott.
WORKS BY MAGIC
With Proxess, multiple credentials have been reduced to one, simplifying the resident experience and equipping the Fellowship Square Mesa security team to solve multiple perplexing challenges and allowing them to better prioritize their time. Proxess has eliminated the scenario in which security was taking valuable time away from assisting in potentially life saving activities to help with lockouts. “With Proxess we can easily press one button remotely, it works by magic, and the doors unlock,” Jon Scott remarked. Additionally, Proxess helped streamline the housekeeping appointment schedule, allowing for just-in-time remote access saving hours of staff downtime per week.
SIMPLICITY ABOVE ALL ELSE
Leveraging the unique “network-on-credential” architecture, Jon Scott and his team enjoy the simplicity of adding users and retrieving full activity logs of every door remotely in seconds further maximizing their time and resources. Micheal Hooker, Facilities Manager for Fellowship Square Mesa, has found the simplicity of Proxess to be its greatest feature. “The ease, simplicity and quickness of the Proxess system allow me to lockdown the campus with just a click of button on my computer, if needed, without ever having to visit the locks.” UNPARALLELED SERVICE AND SUPPORT Service and support have become a crucial part of deploying the new Proxess system comprised of hundreds of locks and secure perimeter openings throughout the Mesa campus for Jon Scott and his team. “I can’t think of a company that supports their equipment any better. They are easy to talk to, readily available and we are very satisfied with the support from Proxess,” remarked Jon Scott.
