Colorado Springs Christian Schools: Increasing Security and Peace of Mind

Colorado

STRUGGLING TO MAINTAIN SECURITY

Colorado Springs Christian Schools serves 1200 students across three campuses throughout Colorado. Like most K-12 schools before Proxess®, CSCS was struggling to maintain proper levels of security across multiple systems. “Our brass key system was so out of control; students were gaining entry into the gym by using copies of keys they had never been issued,“ explained CSCS Superintendent, Dr. Roland DeRenzo.

CENTRALITY OF CONTROL

For CSCS, Proxess brought access control to every classroom and office door, eliminated the daily use of brass keys by staff, and gave Dr. DeRenzo the peace of mind he needed. “We now have one person easily managing access for all three campuses with no more running down keys from staff who have left. We have brought a centrality of control to our security,” Dr. DeRenzo stated.

ALL DOORS MANAGED BY PROXESS

Once CSCS saw how easy the Proxess system was to manage and how cost effective it really was, Dr. DeRenzo said CSCS leadership decided to just keep going. “We found we preferred the ease and functionality of Proxess to our existing on-line, perimeter access control system, so we replaced that system with Proxess as well.“

NO REKEY BUDGET NEEDED

Dr. DeRenzo continued, “Proxess allows us to provide some of the highest levels of security for our exterior and classroom doors at about the price of a mechanical keyed lock per door. Because we no longer hand out brass keys, we never have to budget for a rekey again. That is incredible peace of mind for anyone in my position."
